Privacy Policy
Last updated: December 28, 2025
100% Local Storage
All your data stays in your browser. We never see it.
Zero Tracking
No analytics, no cookies, no user tracking whatsoever.
No Databases
We don't run any databases or store user information.
Open Source
Transparent code you can verify yourself.
What We Don't Collect
SpinNames is built with privacy as a core principle. We do NOT collect:
- Your name, email, or any personal information
- The names or numbers you add to the wheel
- Your spin results or winners
- Your IP address or location data
- Browser fingerprints or device identifiers
- Usage analytics or behavior tracking
- Cookies (except essential local storage for your saved wheels)
How Local Storage Works
When you add entries to the wheel, they are stored using your browser's localStorage API. This means:
- Data never leaves your device
- Data is only accessible to SpinNames on your browser
- Clearing your browser data will delete your saved wheels
- Using private/incognito mode will not persist data
- Different browsers on the same device have separate storage
Voice Input Privacy
When you use voice input, your browser's built-in speech recognition API is used. Audio data may be processed by your browser's provider (Chrome uses Google's API, Edge uses Microsoft's API). We do not have access to this audio data. You must grant microphone permissions to your browser for this feature to work.
OBS / Streaming Integration
When you use the Streamer View or OBS integration, all synchronization happens through your browser's localStorage events. No data is transmitted through our servers. The wheel you see on stream is controlled by the same local storage in your browser.
Third-Party Services
SpinNames does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The only external resource loaded is the font (if applicable), which may be cached by your browser.
Data Security
Since we don't collect or store any user data on our servers, there is no risk of a data breach affecting your personal information. Your data's security depends on your device and browser security.
Children's Privacy
SpinNames does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13. The service can be used by anyone without providing any personal information.
Changes to This Policy
If we ever need to change this privacy policy (for example, if we add optional accounts), we will update this page and the "Last updated" date. Since we don't collect emails, we cannot notify you directly of changes.
